America is an umbrella name for North America and South America, connecting the narrow strip of land in Central America. America lies between the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Atlantic on the east .This pitich continent was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492.His name is, however, derived from the sailor Amerigo Vespuci who explored the coast.
