The largest peninsula in the shape of triangle is located in the northern part of Croatia. The resorts of Istria are well known for a long time, the history of Croatian modern tourism began in this area. You will find beautiful nature here, seaside resorts, hotels and touristic complexes of many kinds and categories. Beaches vary from pebbles, gravel, at places sandy or grass.

One of croatian regions that provides wonderful seaside sceneries. The area between the Istrian peninsula and Dalmatia is made of many bigger and smaller islands that dwell close to the coast. The resort of Rijeka is the central town of  the area. Usually, this is the "first contact with sea" place for the holidaymakers who would like to explore more than just the north of Croatia.

From Zadar down to the gulf of Kotor, a part of Montenegro, is where Dalmatia spreads. Through the lens of tourism we can see this region divided into three parts: north, central and southern part. North Dalmatia begins with its capital town Zadar which still keeps its smalltown atmosphere. From other important seaside resorts we should not forget to mention Šibenik and Trogir town. 

Middle Dalmatia spreads between Trogir and Makarska Riviera. The capital Split belongs to the busiest metropolis and it is the second biggest city in Croatia. The coast south from Split is perceived as the most beautiful in Dalmatia. The reasons to travel for holidays into this region are favourite destinations like Makarska Riviera and popular islands of Hvar, Brač and Korčula.

Southern Dalmatia is formed by a narrow piece of coast in the south of the country. The capital is Dubrovnik, perceived by many as the most beautiful city in all Croatia. The dominant sight of this town, and thus remarkable fortification walls, are still in good condition and they are a real proof of protection of the town against pirates. Summer festivals and cultural events attract visitors.

Plitvice Lakes National Park is located on the main road leading north to the middle and southern seaside resort of Croatia. Almost everyone who travels on vacation to the sea through some of this stunning national monument. Visiting Plitvice Lakes is therefore at least a day trip and break, which will certainly relieve some way to the southern parts of Dalmatia. source RenyTravel
