Cypress

Cypress is the largest island in the eastern Mediterranean, situated south of Turkey. The two main mountains are Pentadaktylos the north and the Troodos in central and southwestern parts of the island. Between them lies a fertile plain Messaoria. Cypress has long been a crossroads between Europe, Asia and Africa and still know it traces the successive civilizations - Roman theaters, and villas, Byzantine churches and monasteries, Crusader castles and prehistoric settlements.Its main economic activities include island tourism, exports of textiles and craft products and shipping. Traditional crafts include embroidery, pottery and copper.
